Michele Ellery

Rotary District 9685 Governor

Michele Ellery is a dynamic leader with extensive experience in non-profit charity startup’s, organizational growth, and high-level management. She is the Founder of the multi-award-winning Queen of Hearts Community Foundation and has dedicated her life to community service, holding numerous voluntary board positions, including recently joining the Rotary Down Under Council board. A Justice of the Peace, Michele’s diverse professional background spans nursing and retail management.


A committed Rotarian since 2018, Michele has held several leadership roles within District 9685, including President of the Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountains (2020–2021), Assistant Governor & Convenor, Rotary Leadership Institute Facilitator, and member of the Public Image Team and Respectful Relationships Committee. She was the 2023-2025 Learning and Development Chair and serves as a Licensed Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Winter RYPEN Camp Mum.


Michele’s dedication to Rotary and community causes is recognized through her status as a Bequest Member, Major Donor, Paul Harris Fellow (PHF+7), and Polio Plus donor. Her tireless advocacy for mental health awareness and efforts to combat the stigma surrounding mental illness reflect her deep commitment to improving community well-being.


Her husband David Ellery's partner project is supporting Australian Rotary Health . Providing a PHD Scholarship to research and investigate Mental Health in 0-12 years. Michele’s impactful contributions have earned her prestigious accolades, including the 2018 Woman of the Year and Penrith City Council Citizen of the Year awards for her work supporting domestic violence and child abuse victims. She is married to David Ellery, and together they are proud parents of five children and grandparents to three granddaughters.
